To Reka Kevsehi, a faucet isn’t just a dispenser of water. It’s also a focal point where design and function come together—“the jewellery of the kitchen and bath.” Kevsehi is co-founder and head of sales at Vogt Industries, which recently unveiled its new line of Zauber faucets. The revolutionary new fixtures for kitchens and bathrooms have already been nominated for a Living Luxe Design Award for their modern and innovative design.

Kevsehi says the magic of the Zauber faucet (named after the German word for magic) is in the way it elegantly integrates with its surroundings. “It’s all in the handles, which can be placed anywhere—on the side of the faucet or on a wall or behind the sink. The look is so sleek it can blend in anywhere, into any design.”

When pushed down, these elegant handles, which can be customized to match any surface, descend into the countertop and become flush. “Imagine you have a beautifully veined stone sink or countertop,” Kevsehi says. “You can have your fabricator cut out the same material to install in the handles.”

The thoughtful design extends beyond the handles. The faucet is equipped with advanced touchless sensor technology, allowing users to turn the water on and off with just a wave of the hand. It’s a feature especially useful for promoting better hygiene and reducing the likelihood of cross-contamination in busy kitchens. The Zauber faucets also come with a pull-down nozzle that easily switches between a powerful spray for rinsing and a gentle stream for filling pots or washing delicate items.

Vogt’s in-house research and development team spent two years creating the Zauber in the brand’s Mississauga studios, then went even further by adding a selection of customizable rings in different colours and textures. “You can do matte white and black or black and gold,” Kevsehi says. “Or you might want to add a little texture to the middle. It’s up to you.” The Zauber is available in a wide array of colours and finishes, from polished chrome and matte black to gunmetal grey and matte white. Vogt Industries’ newest colour, cognac bronze, aligns with the latest trends toward warmer colour palettes and more natural aesthetics for kitchens and bathrooms.

Kevsehi notes that from the beginning of the design process, ease of use was key to the Zauber. The fixtures needed to be simple to install, use and clean, and they needed to balance style and durability. The fixtures are coated with an advanced super-durable finish, applied right to the brass surface of the faucet and handles to make them long-lasting and chip- and scratch-resistant. The added bonus, Kevsehi says, is that the finish repels water spots and mineral build-up, hides fingerprints and makes cleaning as simple as a quick wipe-down with a soft cloth.

Beyond their stylish look and durability, the Zauber faucets are designed with water-saving technology, limiting flow rates without sacrificing performance. And the finish is applied using an emission-free process. So it’s jewellery for the kitchen or bathroom that you can feel good about for years to come.
