Goodbye cold weather, hello heat! Summer fashion is my favourite, and with the lazy days of the season upon us, I’m thinking about what to wear to special events. There’s such a fabulous variety of refreshing and vibrant colours, as well as light, sheer fabrics that fl ow in the breeze this time of year. For summer 2023, there’s a huge focus on butterfly prints (in appliqués and 3D forms, especially), whether on dresses, handbags or sandals. (Honestly, nothing says “whimsical summertime” like a piece adorned with a butterfly.) Of course, we’re also seeing stunning floral prints on sheer flowing fabrics that show off the silhouette. I’ve absolutely fallen for Oscar de la Renta’s hydrangea print this season. Finally, it wouldn’t be summer without pretty crochet-knit dresses and barely-there crop tops. Throw in some crystallized sky-high platforms, rose appliqués, super-large bows and you’ve got the ultimate statement-making look for the season.
